Welcome to the Badgers’ Class homepage!

Children in year three and four experience a range of exciting topics to develop their knowledge, skill and understanding of the curriculum. Children work within a highly stimulating and challenging environment and have opportunities to work both collaboratively and independently. Every child has personalised learning targets in writing, reading, and maths. This allows them to monitor their own progress and achievements throughout the year.
Our lessons regularly benefit from the use of technology to enhance children’s learning and engagement. Using a range of apps and software, children are able research and present their work in creative ways. We also love to take learning outside of the classroom and attend a three-day residential in the summer term!

Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check
In June, children in Year 4 take part in the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). This is a short, online quiz that helps us see how well pupils know their times tables up to 12 × 12.
The check is:
- Quick – it takes about 5 minutes
- Simple – 25 questions, each with a few seconds to answer
- Child-friendly – done on a computer or tablet, they are used to
The purpose of the MTC is not to test children in a stressful way. It simply helps teachers understand what pupils know well and where they may need a little extra practice as they move into Year 5.
Throughout the year, we support children with lots of fun times-table practice, games and activities. Most children enjoy the challenge and feel proud of how much they have learned.
If you would like ideas to help your child practise at home, please speak to the class teacher; we are always happy to support you.
